Himalayan Silver Fir (Abies spectabilis (D.Don) mirb) is a species of conifer belonging to the Pinaceae family and the genus Firs. This species can be found in Afghanistan, China, northern India, Nepal, and Pakistan. It is a large tree that can grow to be 50 m (160 ft.) tall and can be found at altitudes ranging from 2800 to 4000m. The essential oil of Abies spectabilis is extracted by steam distilling the Abies plant’s needles and young twigs.
Its harvesting season lasts from August to November.
