Turmeric Fresh Root (Curcuma longa), is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant native to tropical South Asia that belongs to the ginger family Zingiberaceae. Plants are harvested annually for their rhizomes, and some of those rhizomes are reseeded the following season. The tuberous rhizome from which turmeric is derived has a rough and segmented skin.
Its harvesting month is from April to May.
