Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martinii) commonly known as Palmarosa, is a perennial grass from the Poaceae (Graminae) family. It typically grows to a height of 1–3 meters, with pale green leaves and slender stems. Palmarosa is primarily cultivated for its aromatic oil, widely used in rose-scented perfumes, skincare products, and as a natural mosquito repellent. Its essential oil also holds antifungal and antimicrobial properties, making it valuable in traditional and modern medicine. The plant is harvested multiple times throughout the growing season, which spans from June to December. We source Palmarosa from regions such as the southern lowlands and areas within the eastern plains of Nepal, where the warm climate fosters its optimal growth.
