Calamus (Acorus calamus), also known as Bojho, is a member of the Araceae family. It is an evergreen shrub that can grow up to 1 meter in height. It can be found in Nepal at altitudes ranging from 200 to 2300 meters. Calamus oil is extracted from the rhizomes by steam distillation.
This oil is especially beneficial for boosting neurons and blood circulation. It is an aid to improve blood circulation in the affected area and relieves pain and swelling caused by rheumatism, arthritis, and gout.
Its harvesting season is from March to April
